If insulin is unrefrigerated ove 10, can it be use?

Modern insulins do not require refrigeration. They can be stored at room temperature until they are used. Insulin pens can then be refrigerated if they are not going to be used regularly or unrefrigerated for, at least, 46 days. They are probably stable at temperatures less than 140 degrees for longer than this. Insulin multi-dose vials are being removed from the market and replaced by pens.Vials are not stable unrefrigerated for as long as the pens are and dosage errors are more frequent. Unopened vials are stable at cool room temperature for several years. But sealed Insulin, byetta@, and victoza@ are all much more stable in a refrigerator than they are stable at room temperature for,at least, 42 days and probably longer. Once opened the pens can be carried in a purse or shirt pocket for ease of use and do not require refrigeration until opened and then only if the anticipated storage time exceeds 40-50 days. They are not as stable at temperature in excess of 90 degrees.
