Does he like me or use me? Please answer thank you!?

Okay ive been having trouble about if this guy likes me or not. He's almost 16. Im almost 15. We started texting everyday for about 2 or 3 months ever since a schoo thing I met him at. He had a girlfriend at the time we were texting. He would say I ove you and call me babe and stuff. His girlfriend broke up with him and she told my brother he only texts me cause he feels bad for me and he doesnt even like me. So I asked him and he said no he oves texting me. I asked him in person (i loves texting me. I asked him in person (i texted him the first time I asked) like a week later when I saw him and he said no thats not true im gonna talk to her (his ex) and the next day I texted him and asked if he had talked to her and he said she wont text back.. I dont know if he was lying or not. He also gave me this nickname when I first met him "Rebecca" (he says I look like a rebecca). But anyways he was single for about 2 weeks until him and his other ex started to date. While me and him were talking every day still. And one day he said he loves being single and I said me too just to see if he'll say something and to notice im single too. But all he said was we'll be single buddies:) so I dont know if he just wants to be friends or what. I dont know if he uses me or likes me cause ever since they started to date he stopped texting me and I asked him a few times in the past if I text him too much and he said no but one day I asked if I text him to much then tell me to stop texting him and he said if his girlfriend gets mad then to stop texting him and he also said she doesnt know I text him and I said oh.. And he said it'll be our secret.. but now if I text him he replies short texts and/or doesnt text back. Also he says im pretty and I have pretty eyes.(: and today I texted him and asked what he's doing and he said he's playing his guitar. I asked what songs he plays and he said songs I make and more. Then he said im playing yours now. So he made me a song on his guitar(:
